The role of the bailiff in the collection process
The bailiff is the only person authorised to serve notice of writs (including a writ of summons) and, for example, to serve a writ of attachment,. This also applies to serving notice of a judicial judgement, whereby your debtor will once again be ordered to pay the amount outstanding. If the debtor fails to comply, then a range of enforcement measures can be taken, whereby the bailiff also acts as the enforcing party.
